Should You Paint Or Replace Your Bathroom Cabinets In Franklin, MA

You may look in your bathroom and think to yourself that it would surely look better if you were to perhaps have different cabinets — and this may be the case if your cabinets are so worn down that just touching them causes a door to fall off.

However, there are many cases where what you really just need to improve the look of the cabinets — and in this case, you may be able to improve upon the look by painting them and not replacing them at all.

Let’s have a look at some tips on how to tell if you should paint or replace your bathroom cabinets.

Replace If: Your Cabinets Are Coming Apart

One fairly straightforward way that you’re going to know that it’s time to replace your cabinets is if they are more or less coming apart on you.

Over time even the best cabinets will deteriorate and if you haven’t taken the measures to fix them up (and if you’re like most people this is understandable – not everyone is technically inclined to be able to do this) the cabinets may come apart.

This kind of thing is an indication that it would be better to replace your cabinets.

Paint If: Everything Is Fine Other Than The Color

If you look at your cabinets and it turns out that there’s fundamentally nothing wrong with them, but there are issues with the colors, it may be a good idea to paint your cabinets and not replace them.

If you’re seeking to improve your room and have changed up the look of the rest of the room, it’s quite possible that the cabinets won’t look as good based on the new colors in the room.

In these circumstances, it’s a good idea to repaint your cabinets.

Replace If: There Is Damage Beyond Your Ability To Repair

You may have a good look at your cabinets and notice that there is some significant damage to them that might be fixable.

If this is the case, that’s great — you can either repair it yourself or hire someone to make the repairs for you.

Some kinds of cabinet damage are so extensive that it’s going to cost you a lot more money to repair the cabinets than to replace them — and if you don’t have any particular sentimental attachment to the cabinets it should be okay to replace them!

Paint If: The Color Or Colors Are No Longer Your Preference

While of course, you might have some good intentions that went so well when you first painted your cabinets, it’s entirely possible that your taste in color will change over time.

When you find that this is the case, you don’t have to entirely replace your cabinets as you’ll just have to choose new colors for the cabinets.

Of course, this can be a bit of a difficult choice to make but once you have come to realize that you only have to paint and not replace your cabinets, it is just a matter of doing your due diligence to get an array of color choices and then select one that is going to be best for you!

Paint If: The Colors Are Faded And Need Touching Up

Lastly, if you find that the colors on your cabinets are fading a little bit and that’s the only issue that you have going on, you should know that it means you only have to paint your cabinets.

It would be quite silly to replace the cabinets when the act of touching up paint is one of the simplest ones and does not need nearly the same effort as if you were to have to entirely repaint them.
